My Visit to Blame The Sun Taproom

I visited the Blame the Sun Taproom two times during my trip to Athens, Greece in June 2024 with family and friends. We were staying in the Koukaki neighborhood and were walking back after visiting the Acropolis Museum and just stumbled upon the taproom. With it being so hot out, we just couldn’t pass it up. They had some tables and chairs outside on the sidewalk and were playing some fun music. We ended up staying for a few beers each as it was a nice atmosphere and we really liked the beer. The wives even were able to do a little shopping for a dress and shoes at nearby shops.

We visited a few days later after visiting the Acropolis at night. It was still pretty warm and we were thirsty after walking around the Acropolis and viewing the Parthenon that we really wanted a nice refreshing beer. Thankfully the Blame the Sun Taproom was not far out of our way back to where we were planning on heading for dinner.

Overall Impression

Overall we really enjoyed our visit to Blame the Sun Taproom. If you are in Athens and have the time, I highly recommend stopping in for at least one beer.

Pros

• Near the main Athens attractions
  • Acropolis Museum – 9 minute walk
  • Parthenon – 13 minute walk
  • Syntagma Square – 23 minute walk (or there is a bus that goes right by the taproom)
• Good tasting beer!
• Seating outside
• Fun staff and music

Cons

• Credit card machine wasn’t working on our second visit
• Not a lot of seating space
